We Climb Rocks

An Android app for creating and sharing climbing topos — photos of a crag with routes drawn on, graded and described. Built because climbing guidebooks cost money and existing topo apps made it hard for the community to contribute good quality route info.

The app lets you photograph a wall, draw routes on it, add grades and bolt counts, and share it. Started as a Java training project, rewritten in Kotlin over several years of on-and-off tinkering. Never released, but it was the project that kicked off a career in Android development.
